Well ... we lost .... or did we?

Like most conservatives, I was very disappointed that Obama won the presidential election. To me, this man represented one of the most radical socialistic liberal idiots in the senate and now he has the White House. As if that wasn't bad enough, we now have an even bigger majority of Democrats in both the house and senate. Obama, Reed and Pelosi. Is this a joke, or what? Needless to say, November 4th was not a good day for this country.

However, what was the alternative? If McCain had won, then we (conservatives) could have sat back and fooled ourselves into a false belief that, at least, we have some representation in our own government. That, my friends, could have been even worse.

In my mind, the Democratic Party (while once a great American party) has simply devolved into what should be called the American Socialist Party. The Republican Party (while once a great American party) has simply filled the void left behind by Liberal Democrats. Regardless of which party you do (or have) affiliated yourself with, be certain of this. Neither party represents you or the American people. Both parties have shut the American people out while working hand in hand to form an almost unbreakable Oligargy.

I say "almost" because I believe that we (the American people) still have enough power left to breath life into a viable third and maybe even a forth political party. Parties that will more accurately reflect the will of the American people ... be they conservative or liberal in their thinking. I, for one, am through playing their games and while I have always supported one of the major parties financially, will never give one dime to either one again.

I have intentionally remained very vague in my dismal comments about our political system because when I hear that congress, the senate and the president are enjoying some of the lowest approval ratings in history, I must assume that this "disapproval" is coming from both liberals and conservatives. And I assure you that neither true liberals or true conservative are adequately represented in this country.
